A Stunning Editorial Wedding with Photography & Hybrid Wedding Videography
Some weddings are beautiful. Others have a real sense of style from the moment you arrive.
Tash and Ryan's wedding at Gosfield Hall was definitely the latter.
From the carefully considered details to the incredible setting, the way the day was styled and, of course, Tash and Ryan themselves, this was a wedding that felt effortlessly editorial while still being completely personal.
It was also a particularly exciting wedding for me because this wasn't photography alone. I was able to capture the day as a hybrid wedding photographer, creating both a full collection of still images and an accompanying wedding film.
And what a day it was.
A Wedding Full of Style at Gosfield Hall
Gosfield Hall is an incredible wedding venue and provided the perfect backdrop for Tash and Ryan's day.
There's something about the architecture, elegant interiors and surrounding grounds that lends itself so naturally to editorial wedding photography. Everywhere you look there's another frame, another detail or another little moment waiting to be captured.
Tash and Ryan had put so much thought into the styling of their wedding, and it all came together beautifully.
The result was a day that felt sophisticated and incredibly well considered, without ever losing the warmth and personality that makes a wedding feel like your wedding.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was one of those parts of the day where everything seemed to slow down.
Surrounded by the people closest to them, Tash and Ryan got to enjoy one of the biggest moments of the day before the celebrations really began.
As a photographer, these are the moments I'm looking for. The expressions, the reactions from guests, the little glances between a couple and everything happening around the main event.
And because I was filming as well, I could tell the story in a completely different way.
The photographs freeze those moments in time. The film brings the atmosphere back.
Photography & Film, Capturing the Full Story
This wedding was another great example of why I love offering hybrid wedding photography and videography.
Rather than choosing between photographs and film, Tash and Ryan were able to have both captured as part of the same experience.
I could concentrate on creating the editorial-style portraits and beautiful photographs you'd expect from a wedding gallery, while also capturing the movement, atmosphere and little moments that work so well in a wedding film.
There's something particularly special about being able to look back at a photograph and then watch the same part of the day come alive in video.
The laughter. The speeches. The music. The way someone moves. The atmosphere of the room.
Those are things a photograph can't quite capture on its own.
Stepping Away for a Few Minutes
As with all of my weddings, I didn't want Tash and Ryan spending a huge chunk of their day having their photographs taken.
We stole a little bit of time together and made the most of the venue and the light, creating some of the more editorial portraits of the day.
It didn't take long.
A few minutes away from the guests gave us the opportunity to create something a little more considered, before getting Tash and Ryan straight back to enjoying their wedding.
For me, that's the sweet spot. Beautiful photographs without the couple feeling like they've spent their entire wedding day in front of a camera.
The Details Matter
One of the things that really stood out about Tash and Ryan's wedding was the attention to detail.
From the styling to the table settings and the little touches throughout the day, everything felt intentional.
These details are a huge part of telling the story of a wedding, so I always make time to photograph them properly. Years from now, those little things can bring back memories that might otherwise be forgotten.
And when the overall styling is this good, it's hard not to enjoy photographing it.
Into the Evening
As the day moved into the evening, the atmosphere changed completely.
The formalities were done, everyone had relaxed, and the celebrations really started to take over.
This is where having the combination of photography and film becomes particularly valuable. The energy of the dance floor, the atmosphere of the room and all those little interactions make fantastic photographs, but they're also moments you'll want to hear and see again.
The final part of the day was every bit as memorable as the beginning.
A Wedding I'll Remember
Tash and Ryan's wedding at Gosfield Hall was an absolute pleasure to capture.
Beautifully styled, incredibly personal and full of those genuine moments that make wedding photography so rewarding.
And being able to capture both the photography and the film made it even more special.
